"This is a joy to listen throughout, from the sheer beauty of Nancy's fiddle playing to the great story telling in song, it is the sound of three consummate musicians delighting in their art. Beautiful tunes, wonderful songs and tremendous musicianship."
Martin Simpson.

We'll be at the Gate Theatre, Goole on March 1st.
WILLIAM
WINTER'S QUANTOCKS TUNEBOOK
Thanks to the work of Geoff Woolfe of Bristol, the tunes of Somerset fiddler
and shoemaker William Winter (1774-1861) are now available in a book published
by the Halsway Manor Society. The book is accompanied by a CD which I
produced featuring selected tunes played by myself along with Tim van
Eyken, Nancy Kerr and Miranda Rutter. And what's more ... the tunes are
excellent, really essential stuff for any players and/or tune spotters.
The book
contains nearly 400 tunes along with historical and editorial notes, and
the CD features 31 tunes arranged and performed in a combination of solos,
duos, trios and quartets. The book and accompanying CD are now available
by mail order from my Web Shop
- for more information, please see the Halsway
Manor web site - where you can also find out about a special event taking place on March 18th when Miranda Rutter and I join Geoff Woolfe to discuss the William Winter book at a dinner at Halsway Manor.
ROBERT
HARBRON & EMMA REID
We'll be touring in September this year, doing a combination of house concerts and 'conventional' gigs ... if you'd like to book us or host a house concert, please get in touch.
CHRISTMAS
CHAMPIONS
We had a great time touring this show in December. We're currently planning a 2008 tour; in the mean time, the CD is available from www.EnglishAcousticCollective.org.uk.
NEW
DOGS REVIEW
A review of 'New Dogs, Old Tricks' appeared recently in the American internet
magazine Rambles which said ... "New Dogs, Old Tricks is an enjoyable
collection of tunes and songs, impeccably executed by two talented musicians.
It doesn't try to do anything extravagant -- and it doesn't need to. It's
pretty much perfect!". So if you haven't got it yet, buy
it now ... or read the full review here.
EFDSS
AWARD
To celebrate their 75th anniversary, the English Folk Dance and Song Society
awarded 75 Anniversary Awards ... and I was flattered and honoured to
be the recipient of one of them. More...
MORE THINGS...
During 2008 I'll be doing some gigs with singer-songwriter Jenny Crook, and also some gigs as part of Tim van Eyken's band, and there are a few other things in the pipeline ... more details soon.
